Meet Mr. Wagner
Benjamin D. Wagner is a dynamic music leader, conductor, and educator with a proven record of inspiring performances and building thriving musical communities. With a strong foundation in conducting, orchestration, and musical performance, he has led programs that balance artistic excellence with accessibility. His diverse background as both performer and director reflects his dedication to cultivating meaningful musical experiences that bring people together across cultures and generations.
As a versatile performer, Mr. Wagner has toured nationwide as a professional musician, playing piano, saxophone, organ, woodwinds, and as a vocalist. He serves as a touring saxophonist for Denver and the Mile High Orchestra and has performed with musical organizations such as the Minnesota Opera, Children’s Theatre Company, Illusion Theatre, and History Theatre. Beyond the stage, he has served as the Executive Artistic Director of Sounds Like Love, a national youth choral festival that unites more than 250 high school vocalists annually in a celebration of music, artistry, and community.
Equally passionate about education, Benjamin has taught hundreds of students from early childhood through middle school and beyond. He has built thriving choral programs at multiple schools, designed innovative curricula blending music history and performance, and mentored young musicians in theory, composition, and artistry. Currently serving as Director of Music at Bloomington Covenant Church and as a freelance music teacher, coach and director, Mr. Wagner continues to champion the power of music to transform lives, foster connection, and inspire the next generation of musicians
